There is so much I could write about this wedding – this family means the world to me – you see I’ve known Deb – Liz’s mom for more than 10 years and 5 years ago I photographed Matt (brides brother) and Rebecca’s wedding in Virginia Beach. Since then they have become friends, documenting memories as the family continues to grow. I remember meeting Liz back then and thinking she was so much fun…. fast forward to last October when Liz contacted me and told me it was her turn, she had met her love and wanted me to be their photographer. No words can explain how much that meant to me – that through those past years we’ve kept in touch, they have followed my photography, seen me grow as a photographer and wanted me to document their day. I’ve been looking forward to this day all season, every detail, every flower, a stunning gown and such loving family and friends made Josh and Liz’s wedding spectacular! The backdrop of The Willard hotel in DC takes your breath away – as you’ll see in the images, I was handed incredible beauty to photograph not only at the ceremony and reception but also with everyone that took part in their celebration and day.
Josh and Liz, you are friends – I cherish our friendship and humbled by your trust…. thank you for letting me capture your day.
Sit back and enjoy this post, I had a difficult time narrowing down the photos for this post so I decided not to and simply share…..
Liz’s gown was breathtaking…. every details was so pretty, she wanted a sophisticated yet romantic gown, and that’s exactly what she got with this beautiful Angel Rivera Couture gown from Soliloquy Bridal Couture.
How can you beat this view? and it’s from the restroom, actually more like the Jacuzzi tub!
Sassy hot pink Kate Spade shows that Liz wore!
The mother of the brides gown was stunning and perfect for a few ring photos with all the silver and gold bling!
Their wedding day stationary was classic and elegant, blacks and golds really added a touch to the day.
Oh Liz, you were so glamorous, with a 1940’s elegance…. the moment she see’s herself in the mirror, make-up and hair completed and then with her gown.
The priceless smiles as she puts on her dress.
Taking a few moments to sneak in some bridal photos before the big reveal to her wedding party!
I have no words Liz for this image…aaahhh!
and then to the first look! the photo at the bottom right truly pulled my heart strings. Liz was a little anxious and everything simple fell into place the moment Josh wrapped his arms around her –
After the first look we headed outside to get some bride and groom photos – DC will always steal my heart for gorgeous backdrops for every image!
When a girl has a sassy pair of shoes on her wedding day you gotta lift the skirt and show them off!
Once we got back to the hotel, Liz and her dad shared a few moments when he saw her for the first time – those first looks get me every time!
The amazing wedding party – Liz not only had 7 beautiful ladies but she had a ‘Man of Honor’ – now let me explain, Ben was the best ‘Man of Honor’ ever, this guy never left our side, helped me no matter what and was the best dress fluffer and train lifter ever!
And sometimes before the ceremony the nerves start up….so what do you do? you break into a dance party with your dad!!
Look at that face, can you say ‘hurry up so I can marry you!’……
Sometimes being a ring bearer is hard work, I mean it requires a ‘not so comfy’ outfit, carrying a pillow, balancing rings AND staying quiet during the ceremony – well taking a rest does make the time go by faster…
The shared their written vows to each other – which were so sentimental…
Combining her Jewish faith and his Hawaiian culture they truly made it a combination of two families into one!
The ballroom took your breath away from the moment you walked in – the flowers, the feathers …. that cake! oh my —
Look at this cake – breathtaking –
The night also included a delicious dessert bar! YUM!
Look at this couch they rented from Bella Villa for these photos – so so grand!
and those moments during the father/daughter dance!
we snuck away for a few moments to grab this photo for them, just what they wanted with the Capitol in the background!
And remember Rebecca and Matt, I mentioned at the beginning – this is them… love this family…and my buddy Noah who has put up with me taking photos over the last 4 years of him!
My gorgeous brides – Liz and Becca!
A little behind the scenes – you know get in a tub and a fancy hotel to get the photo!
Asked for my photo with them and this happened….no words!
Sometimes during family photos the little one’s get a little bored….so I made a deal with Noah, if he did a good photo for me then he could take the next one! Great job buddy!!
Liz and Josh, I wish you love and happiness…. you guys are amazing and a blessing in my life! xoxo
